I chose to focus on 'Out of the Black' by Royal Blood as it is a performance video. After completing my technical analysis, it is clear that Mike Kerr gets prevalence over Ben Thatcher, being that he is the singer and the front man of the group.

There is also a very fast cutting rate in the video, with some shots being only a fraction of a second long. This is something that has been common in other videos we have looked at, so we will try and experiment with.

Slow motion is also something we have seen in other videos as well as this one, and we ourselves used slow motion in our Brighton reccie video, when we shot at 50fps. We are going to try and incorporate this into our music video.

The distorted celluloid film overlay is something that we are also willing to try as a group, as it adds to the grungy style of that band, and also the reckless nature of our song.

  1. I like the way you have adapted this task with your own production in mind Dan. You should include an extra paragraph considering editing/transitions and how you are going to try effects presented in this video in your own?
