Shot Ideas - Dorje

In my research into alternative rock music videos, I remembered a band I like called Dorje. They released their debut single 'Aeromancy' in 2012, accompanied by an amateur shot, performance music video.

At the start of the song, it transitions from a melodic, airy guitar riff, into a heavy, distorted backbeat. This is shown in the video by a shaky shot that blends colours together.

At the start of our music video we have been planning on having a montage of shots to set the scene, accompanied by diegetic sound. The song starts with one hit on the snare drum, and I liked the idea of using this effect on that hit, to emphasise the heavy transition into the song.
