The shots above highlight the key aspects I think work well in performance shots. These include high angles over the drum kit, side on MSs of the singer/frontman, and CUs of the singer's face. Specifically, the use of colour (and lack of it) appeals to me as I think it adds another visceral layer to the performance. Such as in the Lost Society video above where there is heavy colour manipulation and almost sparks of colour when the music picks up.Furthermore, the overall use of MCUs and CUs make the performances seem more intimate regardless of their style which I find interesting and want to try out as well as shifting the intimacy away from the performance and towards the narrative too.
